We had a fun time on our trail ride, everything was ready for us when we got there and our guide introduced us to the horses we would be riding. We went through the property that The Royal Livingstone is on and saw many different animals, then crossed the road and continued our trail ride. The guide took pictures of us and different animals as we went. It was a nice leisurely ride, no real experience necessary. - Charlotte

It was a very interesting experience since it was our first time on horses but the kind guide in charge of the stables that lead the ride with us-sorry i forgot his name-made it so smooth ,easy and fun.So we recommend this activity for all visitors in Livingstone and the nearby area in the future. - KYRIAKOS

We booked the horse ride as a family weeks before the day. 40 minutes before we were scheduled to ride Livingstone's Adventures phoned us and told us they only had 2 horses available and we would have to stagger the rides. This wouldn't work for us but when I asked to be refunded I was told this would be difficult and it would take time. I asked to do another activity and was immediately told I would have to pay more and what they charged was more than the advertised price. The horse ride itself was very mediocre. Livingstone's Adventures seemed more insistent on making their money than delivering a good product for happy clients. I would not recommend them or use them again. - Jody

Unfortunately, it had some shortcomings. I've cut/paste the review from Trip Advisor below. I contacted someone in Livingstone after the experience and requested a partial refund, but they were not too sympathetic! Thank you. ________________________________________________________________ Horseback ride did not meet expectations or match advertisement Unfortunately, I would probably not recommend this activity. My teenage daughter wanted to ride some horses and I thought getting "stunning views of the VicFalls and the Zambezi River" as noted on the website would be great. We signed up for a two hour afternoon ride. It wasn't a totally negative experience. The driver was on time and helpful. The guide was also kind, though he told us to keep the horses away from each other because they sometimes fight and kick each other. We are not experienced riders, so that was kind of a concern, but fortunately, our horses seemed to behave okay. My first main concern was that we didn't actually get two hours, but closer to 90 minutes of ride time. We got back to the stable and then had to sit around and wait nearly 30 minutes for the driver because we ended early. Not too fun. My second issue was that the ride itself was at least 80% through dusty scrub and only the very last part was along the river, mostly on the hotel grounds. Nor did we see any stunning views of the Falls, only the mist way off in the distance. We also did not see any animals other than some zebra and giraffe on the hotel grounds but can't blame operator for that. Afterwards, I raised these issues via email with the trip broker, Livingstone Adventures, and they disputed my estimate of the ride time, saying it wasn't possible for the ride to be only 90 minutes because the trail took 120 minutes to do. Well, I'm here to tell you that it is possible to do it in 90 minutes, haha, because we did (or the guide took some shortcuts!). We didn't do any galloping either. I think the guide probably wanted to be done with us because we were such beginners and we weren't seeing any animals anyway. On the second part, Livingstone Adventures maintained that seeing some mist of the Falls was sufficient and for safety reasons, couldn't get closer. Okay. But then you need to correctly advertise the ride and not mention any stunning views. Anyway, at $80 pp, this was not a very good value. (plus $10 park fee pp).
